When you begin a match in GLG, you will see a few different things displayed on the page, which we will outline here so your initial gameplay can go smoothly. You'll notice a scoreboard, a soccer pitch (field), and various action buttons you can utilize to play.
Scoreboard
The top bar (seen above) includes important information about the current match. You will see each player's coach (highlighted in red), usernames (highlighted in yellow), a bar for Team Morale (highlighted in purple), match results/score (highlighted in blue), and the timer/turn counter (highlighted in green).
Soccer Pitch
The main feature on the pitch will be the players. They are distributed along all the field, as seen above.
The player with the ball (highlighted with the red square in the image above) is the one with which you can perform actions. In order to be able to play with another player, you will need to pass the ball to them.
**Note: if you are initiating a pass to another player, you need to select the target player. The success rate is shown below every player as a percentage, as seen below.
On each player, we can see various useful information:
- Level (the bottom left of the circle)
- Position (the bottom right of the circle)
- A Stamina Bar (the orange bar on the left hand side)
- A Health Bar (the green bar on the left hand side)
Action Buttons
At the bottom of the page, we can find the action buttons, pictured above. They will allow us to interact with the game and control the actions of each player. The 3 action choices are:
- Pass: kicking the ball to a player in the same line, or ahead of the player currently in possession of it.
- Shoot: Shooting the ball at your opponent's goal, with the hopes of scoring.
- Dribble: Move the ball forward along the lines using the same player, advancing this individual forward while retaining control of the ball.
Hopefully with this information, you will find navigating your matches a bit simpler. If you are finding that the stats of your players are negatively affecting your gameplay, consider editing your team's starting lineup using subs and reserves, removing and replacing players, or purchasing additional cards to expand your collection and choices for team selection.
