Guidelines for Naming a Team
- Names should be minimum 5 characters and maximum 22 characters.
- Names can contain multiple words with space in between each word (E.g.: My Super Team).
- Special characters are not allowed.
- Profanity is not allowed.
- Start each word with a capital letter and end with a lowercase letter or digit (E.g.: New Super Team or Super Team 2023).
- Use 2 to 3 capital letters to create a name similar to MLS soccer teams (E.g.: Austin FC, FC Cincinnati).
- Promote Safety and Inclusivity: Choose a team name that fosters a safe and inclusive environment for all users. Avoid using names that discriminate or exclude individuals based on their race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or any other personal characteristic.
- No Vulgarity or Offensive Language: Ensure that your team name does not contain any vulgar, obscene, or offensive language. This includes avoiding explicit content, profanity, or any derogatory terms or slurs.
- Avoid Hate Speech: Refrain from using team names that promote hate speech, discrimination, or prejudice towards any individual or group. This includes avoiding team names that incite hatred, racism, sexism, or any form of harmful bias.
- Respectful and Positive Tone: Opt for a team name that maintains a respectful and positive tone. Choose words that inspire friendly competition and create a welcoming community.
- Have Fun: While adhering to the guidelines, feel free to be creative and have fun with your team name. Choose a name that reflects your personality or showcases your enthusiasm for the game, as long as it remains within the bounds of respect and inclusivity.
Newly created team names are not permanent, and can be modified anytime by following this guide.
